About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at OLG Acadia General. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing advanced diagnostic ultrasound procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Assist in the facilitation of departmental operations, including inventory management and staff scheduling
  • Adapt behavior to meet the specific needs of each patient population
Requirements
  • Completion of a CAHEA-approved formal training program in diagnostic medical sonography
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or registry eligible (required within 1 year of hire)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a patient care area, with potential exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent must be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and work effectively in a team setting.
