Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Tech to join our team at AdvantageCare Physicians. As a Nuclear Medicine Tech, you will play a critical role in administering radiopharmaceuticals and operating radioisotope equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals intravenously to detect diseases, using radioisotope equipment under the direction of a physician.
  • Detect and map radiopharmaceuticals in patients' bodies, using a camera to produce computer-generated images.
  • Use processing software to prepare computer-generated images for interpretation by a physician.
  • Perform quality control checks on laboratory equipment or cameras.
  • Maintain and calibrate radioisotope and laboratory equipment.
  • Calculate, measure, and record radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received, used, and disposed, using computer and following physician's prescription.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree, preferably in Nuclear Medicine Technology (R); Bachelor's Degree (P)
  • Completion of an education and training program that has been accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT). (R)
  • Certification by either the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) or the CAMRT nuclear medicine certification. (R)
  • Minimum of 1-year Nuclear Medicine Tech work experience in a hospital or ambulatory setting (R)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) (R)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with providers, care team members and explain technical procedures to patients (R)
  • Strong knowledge of use of radiopharmaceuticals (R),
  • Strong knowledge of radioisotope camera equipment used to produce a computer-generated image and processing software used to prepare images for interpretation by a physician.
