Key Responsibilities

As a Trading Operator for Products, your responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing the daily coordination and scheduling of refined products through various means including vessel, barge, pipeline, stock, or paper transfer, covering trading and marketing supply activities across the Americas and the Caribbean.
  • Regularly updating and maintaining trading data within the risk management system.
  • Timely settlement of trade-related invoices to enhance cash flow while adhering to contractual deadlines.
  • Collaborating with Middle Office and Accounting Departments to ensure the accuracy of data reported in the risk management system.
  • Drafting and dispatching commercial contracts and confirmations in accordance with internal procedures, ensuring data consistency.
  • Assessing and documenting all costs associated with transactions in the risk management system, and communicating all operational data that impacts trading results promptly (including pricing pivots, inspections, freight, demurrage, storage, blending, etc.).
  • Managing and overseeing third-party storage terminals concerning inventory movements, reconciling end-of-month terminal reports with internal inventory records, and documenting monthly inventory gains and losses.
  • Providing and maintaining all necessary documentation in compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Notifying the Credit department when security is required for transactions prior to product scheduling.
Dimensions

The jobholder serves as the primary contact for counterparties in executing contracts for the Total Group's domestic and international trading activities across North America, South America, and the Caribbean.

Objectives
  • Contract administration necessitates a solid understanding of the legal, financial, and operational terms governing transactions.
  • The jobholder is expected to implement measures to achieve anticipated trading outcomes within a framework of internal controls.
  • The jobholder operates autonomously in decision-making and holds full responsibility for operational activities.
  • In managing customer relationships and considering financial and political implications, the jobholder optimizes logistical and commercial flows for the Group.
Work Environment
  • A fast-paced, dynamic trading atmosphere characterized by time-sensitive, business-critical tasks that require strong planning, organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and resolve potential conflicts between the Group and external parties (terminals, customers, suppliers, trading, and shipping).
  • The jobholder may be required to respond to demands during nights, weekends, and holidays.
