Job Title: RN Nurse Instructor for LPN Classes

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified RN Nurse Instructor to teach LPN classes at First Care Home Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating student learning, providing effective instruction, and evaluating student performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement course curriculum, course handouts, lectures, labs, and presentations.
  • Participate in program-level learning assessment, including helping articulate learning outcomes, choosing and administering measures, evaluating student performance, and suggesting changes to improve student learning.
  • Work with other faculty and administrators to develop program curriculum, standards, and policies, including reviewing and participating in textbook selection processes.
  • Schedule, supervise, debrief, and evaluate students in clinical, internship, observation, field experience, and similar settings.
  • Be available to students via email, phone, or personal conferences, with clearly communicated availability through the course syllabus.
  • Assign grades and maintain course/student records in accordance with FERPA regulations, submitting grades and records by established deadlines.
  • Meet all classes and other scheduled responsibilities, including office hours and meetings, at designated times.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • BSN Degree in Nursing
  • 2 years of teaching experience

Preferred Skills or Additional Notes:

  • Experience and expertise teaching in multiple areas
  • Previous work experience related to the discipline areas noted above
  • Evidence of engagement in professional academic associations
  • Ability to use varying styles and approaches that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multi-cultural workplace
  • Experience teaching diverse adult students
  • Experience or interest in alternative instructional modes related to both classroom instruction and distributed learning
  • Evidence of service and engagement outside of the classroom
