Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Project Superintendent, Project Manager, Quality Control Manager, and Home Office Mechanical Procurement Coordinator to develop, discuss, and finalize the operational plan, job layout, and schedule.
  • Oversee daily activities of crafts and subcontractors in the field, delegating tasks through foremen and subcontractor representatives, while engaging with diverse cultures and languages.
  • Maintain consistent communication with project staff to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and timelines.
  • Review project plans, specifications, budgets, and estimates with the project manager and superintendent to ensure clarity on quantities, values, manpower needs, and delivery schedules.
  • Participate in weekly progress meetings with subcontractors to track project advancements.
  • Assist in the initial planning for the receipt, storage, and handling of materials as necessary.
  • Help resolve construction challenges, such as productivity issues and work interfaces.
  • Foster strong relationships with owners and architectural-engineering firms involved in the project, promoting cooperation and respect among all partners.
  • Complete additional tasks as directed by project managers and superintendents.
  • Conduct quantity surveys and estimates based on project specifications for plumbing and mechanical systems.

Working Environment: This role is set in a construction environment, requiring travel and full-time commitment. Candidates must be physically capable of crawling, climbing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, standing for extended periods, and lifting over 50 lbs. Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights is essential, as is the capacity to endure varying weather conditions.

Reporting Hierarchy: Reports to Project Manager, Project Superintendent, Assistant Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Construction Executive.

Education and Experience: A minimum of a high school diploma/GED with 15 years of construction management experience (including at least five years in design/build mechanical systems) is required. A four-year degree in building science, construction management, or engineering with 10 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Certifications: Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense minimum secret security clearance. Current clearance is required.
