Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including vital signs, personal hygiene, and safety measures.
  • Assist with patient admission, discharge, and transportation.
  • Participate in patient care, vital signs, intake and output, and other data collection and records.
  • Recognize and report pain, patient complaints, or changes in patient condition to assigned nurse.
  • Transport medications and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain adequate levels of supplies and equipment on the unit.
  • Process written medical staff orders and communicate STAT or urgent orders to the care provider.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year of experience as a CNA in an acute care setting preferred.
  • Experience in an acute psychiatric unit preferred.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS certification.
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification within 30 days of hire.
Working Conditions

This position requires heavy work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens as well as patients who are agitated.
