At Ansible Government Solutions, we are seeking a Medical Support Assistant to support the Richmond VA Medical Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for scheduling, canceling, and rescheduling patient appointments and consults, as well as preparing for clinic visits and monitoring appointments and consults.

Additionally, you will provide general reception support in the Release of Information (ROI) offices at various medical centers, scanning insurance cards, protecting secure information, and completing all insurance buffer (ICB) encounters required by ICB. You will also scan records and documents into an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to support HIM functions at medical centers, make outgoing and receive incoming phone calls, and review requests for reimbursement of travel costs and reconcile claims/vouchers for payments using electronic systems.

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. If you have experience in clerical, office, customer service, or other administrative work, and are able to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments and consults
  • Prepare for clinic visits and monitor appointments and consults

Qualifications:

  • Citizen or Resident of the United States of America
  • Ability to speak clearly, hear and write English
  • Utilize computer programs appropriately, usually involving spreadsheets, word processing, etc.
  • Heavy phone and computer usage, often simultaneously
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, hospital terminology and/or clinics
