Position: Refrigeration Mechanic (Veteran Preferred)

Role Summary: As a Refrigeration Mechanic, you will be integral in the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration systems for our clientele. Your technical acumen will ensure the dependable and efficient functioning of commercial refrigeration apparatus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, and refrigeration units.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to preemptively identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Diagnose refrigeration system malfunctions utilizing specialized tools and equipment.
  • Replace or repair defective components, such as compressors, condensers, valves, and motors.
  • Maintain and repair refrigeration control systems, including thermostats, defrost timers, and electrical wiring.
  • Handle refrigerants safely and in accordance with environmental regulations.
  • Adhere to manufacturer specifications and industry standards for accurate and efficient repairs.
  • Document all maintenance and repair activities meticulously, including parts utilized and work performed.
  • Effectively communicate with clients to clarify repair options, provide estimates, and address inquiries.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow and ensure timely project completion.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and advancements in refrigeration technology through ongoing training and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Military background preferred. Veterans with experience as a 91C (Refrigeration Specialist) are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Relevant technical training or certification in refrigeration or HVAC.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Refrigeration Mechanic, showcasing a robust understanding of refrigeration systems and components.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting refrigeration equipment using specialized tools.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration control systems, electrical wiring, and safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with refrigerant handling and EPA regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Working Conditions:

  • The Refrigeration Mechanic will primarily operate at client sites, including commercial buildings, restaurants, and foodservice establishments.
  • May encounter various weather conditions and confined spaces.
  • Physical exertion, including lifting heavy equipment and working in awkward positions, may be necessary.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or overtime as required.
