Job Summary:

This position manages a team of HVAC service technicians responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for residential, commercial, and industrial properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate the activities of the HVAC service team, including assigning tasks, scheduling work, and ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Monitor and inspect HVAC installations and repairs to ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and regulations.
  • Troubleshoot complex HVAC problems and provide guidance and support to technicians in diagnosing and resolving issues.
  • Conduct regular inspections of HVAC systems to identify potential problems and recommend preventive maintenance measures.
  • Train and mentor HVAC service technicians, providing guidance on proper installation techniques, equipment operation, and repair procedures.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide technical expertise and recommendations.
  • Stay updated with industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices in HVAC systems to ensure the team's skills and knowledge are up to date.
  • Maintain accurate records of work orders, equipment maintenance, and service history.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for the team.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years HVAC installation experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proven track record of effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities to diagnose complex HVAC issues and provide effective solutions
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations and industry standards related to HVAC systems
  • Beg/Intermediate computer skills and able to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of HVAC equipment and tools for diagnostics and system analysis
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong customer service skills to resolve client concerns and provide exceptional service
  • Must be able to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with clients, contractors, and team members
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to work overtime with little notice; weekend hours may occasionally be required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years' experience as a field supervisor in residential new construction or related experience
  • Multi-family HVAC installation experience
  • Completed college coursework
Working Conditions:

The majority of time spent in a field environment (hot attics, crawl spaces, uneven terrain, construction sites and finished homes). Travel by vehicle to and from work locations. Regularly exposed to construction environments involving equipment, elevated work areas, confined spaces, noise, dust, hazardous materials and odors. Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to drive and operate a motorized passenger vehicle or forklift
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Frequently performs tasks requiring climbing, bending at the waist, crawling, kneeling, crouching
  • Must be able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work on platforms/scaffolding (using the appropriate fall protection requirements)
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, reflective safety vests, gloves and safety toe, construction-grade work boots
  • Must be able to adhere to long periods of standing, walking or sitting
  • Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and/or other sounds to operate phones or other equipment safely
  • With natural or corrected vision, able to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to others
  • Ability to enter text or data into a computer by means of a traditional keyboard or 10-key numeric keypad
