Job Summary

As a House Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital's nursing departments, providing leadership and guidance to our nursing staff, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and coordinate intradepartmental and interdepartmental functioning of the hospital.
  • Direct staff members appropriately and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Access personnel needs based on census, acuity, and the special needs of each unit.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Act as a Clinical Resource regarding complex patient issues and assist staff in clinical decision making.
  • Manage admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Model, promote, and hold staff accountable for attaining and sustaining an unparalleled patient experience that differentiates the organization as a leader in healthcare.
  • Coordinate with management/administrative team to ensure staff productivity and appropriate resource utilization to achieve high-quality patient care while meeting financial performance goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice, minimum of 3 years in a management role, and a minimum of 1 year as a House Supervisor.
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered.
  • BLS certification and ACLS certification.

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is a multi-specialty hospital in Texas with over 360 beds. The facility is home to St. David's Children's Hospital, St. David's Women's Center of Texas, featuring a Level III NICU, a Kidney Transplant Center, and the Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery. Additional services offered at this medical center include 24-hour emergency care, heart and vascular care, neurology and neurosurgery, rehabilitation services, and inpatient and outpatient surgery.
