Job Summary

Dental Depot is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our dental care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dentists in delivering high-quality oral health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for dental procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the treatment process.
  • Assist dentists during procedures, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Take and expose dental diagnostic x-rays, following proper safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Record medical and dental histories, vital signs, and treatment information in patient records.
  • Chart existing and proposed treatment plans, using patient management software to track patient progress.
  • Provide preoperative explanations and postoperative instructions to patients, ensuring they understand their treatment plans and aftercare instructions.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and tracking budgets for dental office inventory.
  • Perform other administrative and maintenance tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Completion of a Dental Assisting Program or minimum one year of experience as a Dental Assistant.
  • Current Dental Assisting Permit and CPR Certification required.
  • X-Ray Certification required to serve chairside.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with dentists, patients, and other team members.
  • Knowledge of CDT codes and ability to pass the Dental Depot CDT test within 20 days of employment.
Working Knowledge

Amalgam and composite fillings, extractions, start and finish root canal, crown prep, impression and temporary crown fabrication, alginate and System 1 and 2 impressions, adjusting and crown delivery, pulpotomy and stainless steel crown, prophylaxis, wax try in, adjusting and delivering flexible and cast metal partials, adjusting and delivering dentures.
