About the Role
Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools is seeking a highly qualified Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Student Support Services, this professional will be responsible for advancing school-based mental health awareness, quality prevention, intervention, evaluation, and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with school teams to promote access to mental health care.
- Create and maintain coordination through standardization of comprehensive mental health delivery of services.
- Enhance school climate by promoting mental health wellness and early identification of needs.
- Assist in identifying and delivering range of evidence-based prevention to intense interventions.
- Develop program evaluation and data collection for efficacy and effectiveness of services.
- Communicate extensively and provide consultation, mental health education, and prevention information to staff, students, families, and school community.
Service Facilitation
- Provide mental health-related support services to school teams and leadership team.
- Collaborate and assist with and provide oversight of public and private agencies to offer access to mental health services and programs on the school campus for students and their families.
- Assist in coordination of school-wide system of intervention, including implementation of comprehensive mental health plan.
