This position is pivotal in establishing and overseeing a proficient engineering team dedicated to supporting extensive programs or multiple smaller initiatives within our power and energy management and aircraft electrification sectors. The PTL will work closely with program managers and functional engineering leaders to ensure the successful execution of engineering tasks aligned with the program objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to approved engineering plans by participating in program control meetings, design evaluations, and conducting process audits while maintaining regular communication with cost account managers.
  • Evaluate all technical modifications to requirements, coordinating the assessment of their impact on schedule and budget, while ensuring consistent design integrity.
  • Monitor engineering performance metrics for the program and provide technical guidance to the program manager.
  • Oversee Design to Cost (DTC) initiatives and cost reduction efforts in collaboration with power and energy management specialists.
  • Engage with functional engineering teams to guarantee adequate staffing and execution of programs, approving engineering cost account manager assignments.
  • Assess all modifications to the engineering cost, schedule, technical, and risk baselines.
  • Collaborate with Performance Excellence to customize applicable processes for projects and programs, ensuring compliance with relevant engineering standards.

This role will adopt a hybrid work model, balancing onsite and remote work to foster collaboration and independence.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • At least three years of experience in Engineering Management or Project Leadership.
  • Proven experience leading an engineering team of five or more members.

Essential Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to meet cost, schedule, and customer objectives.
  • Proven leadership and motivational skills for engineering teams.
  • Ability to integrate and coordinate cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both internally and externally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience in Controls engineering management or project leadership.
  • Experience leading projects in power and energy management or aircraft electrification.
  • Familiarity with IR&D development and production programs.
  • Experience managing larger engineering teams of twenty or more.
  • Background in leading safety-critical projects and dispersed, multi-disciplinary teams.

Compensation and Benefits:

Full-Time Salary Range: $195,700. Individual salaries are determined by various factors, including business considerations, local market conditions, and candidate qualifications.
