Senior Audit Associate Job Description

Kabat, Schertzer, De La Torre, Taraboulos & Co. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Audit Associate to join our team. As a Senior Audit Associate, you will play a key role in leading and mentoring junior staff members, ensuring the successful completion of audit engagements, and contributing to the growth and development of our firm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Mentoring: Instruct and oversee fellow A&A staff throughout engagements, broadening technical knowledge through review of complex client transactions.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and/or review financial statements, complete general audit procedures, and coordinate audit closing communications.
  • Technical Research: Research technical issues using online tools and resources.
  • Quality Control: Review work completed by staff and make recommendations regarding preparation and accuracy.
  • Client Management: Assist managers and partners in running client engagements from start to finish, ensuring complete client satisfaction through open communication and timely completion of projects.
  • Professional Development: Participate in client meetings, lead client meetings with some clients, and supervise, train, and mentor associates and interns on audit projects.
Desired Credentials:
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree with a major in accounting.
  • Professional Certifications: CPA certification or working towards certification required.
  • Experience: Experience in an Assurance department of a CPA firm working as a senior associate or performing senior associate responsibilities.
  • Technical Skills: Thorough understanding of accounting standards and common audit procedures and techniques, technical knowledge sufficient to supervise others, and proficiency in Excel, general ledger packages, and computerized audit applications.
