Key Responsibilities- Maintain and refine floors and carpets throughout the hospital and assigned campuses
- Ensure cleanliness of utility rooms, stairwells, freight elevators, and common areas for visitors and staff
- Collect and dispose of soiled linen, and assist with clean linen distribution as needed
- Perform minor general maintenance tasks, including hanging drapes/cubicle curtains, moving furniture, etc.
- Complete other assigned duties related to Environmental Services
- Basic knowledge of flooring and cleaning techniques for various floor types and carpeting
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
This role requires close interaction with medical staff and ancillary areas to ensure a quality, multi-disciplinary approach to patient care and safety. The position involves wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and lifting/moving equipment, supplies/chemicals, and furniture of medium weight. Work requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, and stretching. The environment may involve varying temperatures and exposure to chemicals used in cleaning supplies and blood/blood-borne pathogens.
