Job SummaryThe Senior Project Engineer plays a crucial role in assisting the Project Manager on assigned projects. This position requires strong technical skills, excellent communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate with project architects, designers, owners, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure seamless project execution.
- Generate Request for Information (RFI) and submittals to facilitate project progress.
- Manage project subcontractors, including coordination, procurement of materials and equipment, monitoring budget and cost, and managing billings.
- Act as the information hub to ensure continuity of work and provide technical information to project supervisors to ensure compliance with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
- Prepare and execute subcontracts and subcontractor change orders, including time extensions, and may prepare and execute owner change orders.
- Provide estimating services and monitor and track project quality control metrics and activities on a regular basis.
- Inspect all work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications and maintain critical project logs (submittal, change order, etc.).
- May supervise staff, including establishing and communicating performance expectations, providing positive and constructive feedback, and conducting on-the-job training of project engineers and interns.
- May be responsible for managing project schedule with the project Superintendent.
- Graduate of a four-year degree program in Engineering or Construction Management.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience assisting or supervising construction projects of increasing complexity.
- Full knowledge of computer software, including MS Word, Excel, Project, and Primavera scheduling software.
- Experience with Project Controls software (Timberline, Prolog, or equal) and working knowledge of Autocad or Revit.
- Broad knowledge of LEAN and BIM techniques and demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects, tools, or controls. The position requires mobility, and duties involve moving materials weighing up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboards, mice, calculators, and similar machines.
Work EnvironmentBNBuilders believes in collaboration, team building, and a strong supervisor/employee relationship. To accomplish this, the duties of this role are not performed in a remote capacity, and we expect that all employees will complete work in an office/job site setting.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
