Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will primarily support attorneys with civil defense litigation in med-mal and insurance matters. Key responsibilities include:

  • Organizing and analyzing documentary evidence, including claim file materials, medical records, expert reports, depositions, discovery, and other materials.
  • Preparing and handling discovery responses and requests.
  • Monitoring files and escalating issues requiring attorney involvement.
  • Conducting legal research using online media for experts, background searches, and case investigation.
  • Requesting medical records and maintaining a Master Production Log to track incoming and outgoing requests.
  • Providing professional assistance and support to the legal staff in the development, research, management, and resolution of cases.


Requirements

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of prior paralegal experience, with a working knowledge of paralegal concepts, procedures, and practices. They must have a demonstrated knowledge of legal research and proficiency in MS Word and Outlook. Additionally, they should have experience reviewing and summarizing medical records, as well as knowledge of how to bill time and use legal research tools like Lexis Nexis.
