In our Risk Management division, you will play a crucial role in a growing team that inspires passion and innovation, shaping the future of commerce and positively impacting millions of users worldwide.
We are in search of a highly skilled and self-driven data scientist to join our Risk Analytics team. This team comprises both data scientists and software engineers who develop and implement cutting-edge machine learning algorithms for fraud detection and risk evaluation. Your primary responsibility will be to support algorithm development in a high-throughput, low-latency, big data environment.
Your Role
As a data scientist, you will support the risk management team by leveraging big data technologies to structure and analyze data, conduct statistical evaluations, and develop algorithmic solutions to mitigate fraud, monitor user activities, and enhance the overall TCGplayer experience.
As part of the decision science team, you will research and innovate new methodologies to improve the effectiveness of our risk management strategies.
Your Contributions
- Analyze vast amounts of unique internal and external data to gain insights into customer behavior and its relationship with fraud and credit risks.
- Serve as the technical lead on projects requiring customization of existing analytical tools or the development of new solutions.
- Conduct statistical data analysis, ensure data integrity, and create tracking systems to evaluate the effectiveness of models and risk initiatives.
- Design systems to structure and aggregate large datasets into meaningful features for modeling.
- Collaborate with business partners to translate real-world challenges into scalable solutions.
- Work alongside the Data Engineering team to deploy models into production.
- Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as computer science, mathematics, or statistics.
- Two years of experience in Deep Learning (NLP, CV) applied in high-volume, low-latency applications.
- Familiarity with Big Data technologies, including the Hadoop ecosystem: Hive, Spark, etc.
- Proficiency in machine learning frameworks: Python, R, etc.
- Strong programming skills in one or more languages (Python, Java, Scala, etc.).
- Experience with various modeling techniques: GBM, logistic regression, clustering, NLP.
- Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
