Position Overview: The Safety and Security Officer plays a crucial role in monitoring and protecting our human resources, intellectual property, reputation, and physical assets to ensure operational continuity. As one of the first representatives of Iron Mountain that clients and visitors may encounter, your demeanor, appearance, and professionalism will significantly influence their initial perception of our company. Adhering strictly to safety and security protocols is essential to fostering a secure environment for our clients and reinforcing our commitment to security and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and regulate the daily entry and exit of individuals and vehicles, addressing safety and security concerns while deterring unauthorized access.
  • Conduct routine inspections of key assets and locations through scheduled patrols, both on foot and in vehicles, in all weather conditions.
  • Assist clients, tenants, and visitors with safety and security inquiries, providing directions and general guidance.
  • Document significant security and safety incidents and complete reports as per established policies.
  • Manage access control for all visitors, vendors, and contractors in accordance with entry request documentation.
  • Quickly assess and de-escalate situations that may pose a threat to safety or security.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal, administrative, and communication skills, with the ability to maintain professionalism during stressful situations.
  • Familiarity with physical access control systems, CCTV, and related equipment.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various departments including Operations, IT, and HR.
  • Maintain all issued uniforms and equipment, and comply with documentation in English.
  • Prior experience in Security, Law Enforcement, Corrections, or Military is preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and maintain required training certifications.
