Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, educate, and select volunteers to support our patients and families
  • Establish a need for volunteer services and maintain monthly statistics to ensure effective program management
  • Develop and maintain volunteer training and orientation programs to ensure volunteers are equipped to provide high-quality care
  • Supervise and evaluate volunteers, maintaining current personnel files and ensuring compliance with all state and federal legal and regulatory requirements
  • Provide information to individuals and community groups about hospice volunteer services, promoting our program and engaging with potential volunteers
  • Participate in interdisciplinary group meetings to ensure seamless communication and collaboration with our healthcare team

Requirements:

  • College degree, advanced degree in human services preferred
  • 2+ years experience in healthcare, with hospice and/or volunteer experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care and ability to organize and develop volunteer hospice personnel
