Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Koch Industries. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, machinery, and job site vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex issues with heavy equipment, including rolling stock, machinery, and job site vehicles.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, oil changes, and filter services.
  • Identify and replace worn or damaged parts, and install new equipment components.
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with plant safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements
  • At least three (3) years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.
  • Experience reading electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Experience diagnosing and rebuilding power train components, including internal combustion engines, transmissions, and final drive components.
  • Experience working with preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Experience with precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings, pumps, and lubrication.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five (5) years or more of experience as a Mobile/Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
  • Associate degree or two (2) years of study from a technical college or school in the fields of Industrial Maintenance or Industrial Technology.
  • Experience with welding and fabrication.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other PC-based production reporting systems applications.
  • Hyster certification or equivalent.
