Farmers Conservation Alliance (FCA) is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on the synergy between agriculture, water management, and energy conservation. About FCA
Our team comprises 45 professionals, including strategy consultants, funding specialists, technical experts, and public policy advisors, all committed to ensuring mutual benefits for farmers, ecosystems, and communities. Established two decades ago, we successfully introduced an innovative fish screen technology to the market, known as the Farmers Screen, which effectively protects aquatic life and maintains water quality.
Our mission has since expanded to encompass the Irrigation Modernization Program, aimed at assisting farmers and ranchers in upgrading their water delivery systems. Our staff collaborates with water users, agencies, and organizations to design, finance, and implement comprehensive solutions and technologies that enhance water delivery, lower operational costs, and promote renewable energy generation.
Our headquarters in Hood River, Oregon, serves as a source of inspiration for our team, both professionally and personally. Role Responsibilities
As FCA continues to experience remarkable growth, the complexity of our operations necessitates the expertise of a full-time Finance Director. This role will oversee all financial aspects of the organization and collaborate closely with the Executive Director, Managing Director, Finance Manager, and finance team to enhance financial reporting systems, budgeting processes, and forecasting efforts. Additionally, the Finance Director will prepare analyses to assist the Executive and Managing Directors in strategic decision-making, business model evaluations, project and program strategies, and new initiatives. They will serve as the primary resource for the finance team on a daily basis, enhancing existing financial management, reporting, and tracking systems.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Overseeing the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
- Delivering accurate and timely financial and management reports to leadership, emphasizing key performance indicators.
- Conducting financial analyses to inform decisions regarding projects, programs, and initiatives.
- Collaborating with program and project teams to gather relevant data for financial assessments.
- Identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic planning.
- Preparing presentations and reports for executive leadership and external stakeholders.
- Managing the annual audit and federal indirect rate proposal processes.
- Providing support to the finance team as needed.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of senior financial management experience in a mission-driven organization.
- Experience in financial management across non-profit, government, and private sectors.
- Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for translating complex financial data into actionable insights.
- Proficiency in Excel, Quickbooks Online, FP&A tools, and Salesforce.
- Experience with government contracting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying financial concepts to non-financial professionals.
- Proactive problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional collaboration abilities.
