TT&E Iron & Metal, LLC is seeking a dedicated Shredder Maintenance Supervisor for the second shift at our facility. This role is crucial for overseeing the maintenance and operational efficiency of our metal shredding processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise second shift personnel to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with conveyor systems and various metal processing machinery.
  • Conduct routine and specialized maintenance on shredders and associated equipment.
  • Address minor electrical problems as they arise.
  • Perform fabrication and welding tasks as required.
  • Manage maintenance activities during unexpected equipment downtime.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard and work areas.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and lead safety training for staff.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Shredder Manager or Supervisor.
Qualifications

Applicants should possess a minimum of three years of supervisory experience in scrap handling or manufacturing settings. Hands-on expertise in operating and maintaining shredders and material handling equipment is essential.

Skills Required

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to motivate team members. Proficiency in operating heavy machinery, including front-end loaders and cranes, is necessary. A solid understanding of equipment operations and troubleshooting is also required, along with familiarity with various scrap metal types.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed and be comfortable working outdoors for extended periods. Experience with oxyfuel welding and cutting is preferred. The role involves assisting and supervising team members in the installation, fabrication, alteration, and repair of mill components.

Employment Type

This is a full-time position with an annual salary of $100,000 or equivalent hourly pay, based on experience.

Work Schedule

Shifts are 8+ hours, Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM, with weekends as necessary.
