About the Role

This position is centered on managing enhancements and modifications to manufacturing processes and protocols within the industrial facility to establish optimal operational methods. The role entails ongoing evaluation of production processes to identify areas for improvement and overseeing manufacturing operations by planning, directing, and coordinating tasks as follows:

Responsibilities
  • Implementing ergonomic and safety standards throughout manufacturing processes, equipment, and facilities.
  • Developing, assessing, and refining manufacturing techniques through data collection, analytical evaluation, and practical experience.
  • Evaluating new technologies and processes to improve manufacturing efficiencies, productivity, cost-effectiveness, and product quality.
  • Creating justifications for capital expenditures related to initiatives such as new product tooling, equipment, and cost-saving measures.
  • Analyzing workforce utilization, spatial requirements, workflow, and designing equipment and workspace layouts for maximum efficiency.
  • Collaborating with the Product Development System (PDS) Team to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and effective manufacturing processes.
  • Working closely with suppliers to determine product specifications, assess products, and manage procurement.
  • Estimating production timelines, staffing needs, and associated costs to inform management decisions.
  • Engaging with management, engineering, and staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and considerations for efficient production processes.
  • Applying Lean Manufacturing principles such as Continuous Improvement, Blitzes, KanBan, TPM, Takt Time, etc.
  • Collaborating in a team-oriented environment with engineers, supervisors, and manufacturing personnel while adhering to company principles including Quality and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Assisting maintenance personnel in troubleshooting and equipment installation/setup.
  • Performing other assigned responsibilities.
Role Specific Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (manufacturing, process, or industrial).
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proven experience in leading engineering projects from inception to completion.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and other Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, technical procedures, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in drafting reports, business correspondence, and manuals.
  • Hands-on experience in engineering installation and startup.
  • Strong understanding of mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Competency in applying mathematical concepts to real-world situations.
  • Ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
