Job Overview

Nexus HR Services is seeking an experienced Insurance AR Specialist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and a proven track record of ensuring timely reimbursement for clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow up on insurance account balances for designated divisions to ensure accurate and efficient claims processing.
  • Utilize the claims control module for accounts receivable follow-up and resubmit or appeal claims as necessary.
  • Submit medical records to facilitate claims processing and review claim denials identified by the payment specialist.
  • Respond to incoming billing-related phone calls and perform pre-bill and claims corrections as required.
  • Serve as backup for the Guarantor AR specialist and complete additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a medical office performing medical billing processes
  • At least 2 years of direct billing experience
  • Certified coder background preferred
  • Experience with Vitera EHR is a plus
  • Proficient in CPT/HCPCS/ICD-9/ICD-10 coding
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access)
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing practices
