About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Ascension. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in supporting the surgical team and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare for and assist with surgical procedures, adhering to accepted standards and department policies and procedures.
  • Apply the principles of asepsis in a competent manner to provide optimum patient care.
  • Participate in general cleaning, stocking, and sterilization of instruments and supplies in the OR.
  • Assist in setting up the OR with supplies and instruments, arranging them for efficient use during the surgical procedure.
  • Scrub on all surgical procedures performed in assigned work area.
  • Anticipate and prepare for the needs of the surgeon, passing instruments, sponges, sutures, etc.
  • Maintain an accurate count of sponges, sharps, and instruments, and ensure counts are complete and accurate prior to the procedure and before the incision is closed.
Requirements
  • BLS course required.
  • CST Certification preferred.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, and one of the following is required: Military service trained as a Surgical Technologist, LPN trained as a Surgical Technologist, or successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
