Job Summary

The Lead Teacher is responsible for the overall operations of the classroom and providing a high-quality education and care for children. This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to early childhood education and a passion for working with young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Management: Supervise all classroom and outdoor activities, ensuring the welfare, health, and safety of the children.
  • Child Development: Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum/learning experiences in line with the CT-ELDS and NAEYC Standards.
  • Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with families, including regular updates on child progress and any concerns.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Professional Development: Attend workshops, conferences, and in-service trainings to stay up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or a Bachelor's Degree in a non-related field with 36 credits in Early Childhood Education.
  • Certifications: First Aid and CPR certification, and Medication and Epi-pen certification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working with young children in an early childhood education setting.
