Surgical Technician Job Description

OrthoAlliance is seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to join our team at the Chardon Surgery Center. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the surgical team during operative procedures, arranging and inventorying sterile set-ups as needed.
  • Prepare and move patients, and clean the operating theater to maintain a safe and efficient environment.
  • Provide surgical care to meet identified patient outcomes and achieve facility goals, as directed by the Registered Nurse.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure effective communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Participate in maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to facility safety requirements and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of an Operating Room Technician program.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Course preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in surgical assisting, preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow direction, interact positively with patients, families, and coworkers, and communicate effectively.
  • Adaptability to perform a variety of duties and repetitive tasks, with a focus on providing excellent patient care.
Working Conditions:

The Surgical Technician will work in a climate-controlled environment, with potential exposure to unpleasant odors, blood and body fluids, infectious diseases, and chemical and electrical hazards. Occasional exposure to outdoor climate may be required.

Physical Requirements:

The Surgical Technician must be able to frequently hear and communicate orally, see up close and at a distance, read and comprehend, stand, sit, walk, reach, handle, and feel objects. Ability to climb, pull, push, and kneel, with a maximum unassisted lift of over 100 lbs. Ability to wear a lead apron and push heavy equipment.

Supervision:

The Surgical Technician will work independently, with minimal supervision, and be self-directed in their duties.
