Job Summary

The University of Connecticut School of Social Work is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to join its team. As a key member of the Innovations Institute, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of research and evaluation activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and analyze large administrative datasets to provide actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement data visualization strategies to communicate complex findings to diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with research faculty to design and implement research studies, data collection procedures, and analytic planning.
  • Provide technical assistance to service providers and public agencies in developing data collection procedures and resolving data quality issues.
  • Contribute to the development of research agendas, literature reviews, and written products for multiple audiences.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Social Sciences, Education, Public Policy, Mathematics, Statistics, or Information Management.
  • 4-10 years of experience in data analysis, statistical programming, and data visualization.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, respond to tight timelines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of statistical software packages, such as SPSS, SAS, R, or STATA, and experience with data visualization tools, like Power BI.
  • Ability to understand and utilize scientific terminology and research theory.
Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience with commonly used coding languages, such as R, Python, or SQL.
  • Knowledge of implementation science, rapid-cycle evaluation, and data visualization.
  • Ability to convey complex information in writing and orally to diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience developing and maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders and internal colleagues.
