AIG's Underwriting teams are dedicated to discovering insurance solutions across various sectors, including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, and Multinational Clients. Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with the 'Manufacturers & Airline' product division, collaborating with a team of 12 to maintain and expand our product liability portfolio, particularly in core areas such as component products and secondary and tertiary manufacturers.
- Assess and analyze aviation risk exposure through comprehensive risk documentation, remaining adaptable to evolving risk appetites.
- Utilize your expertise in policy forms, endorsements, coverages, rating plans, underwriting guidelines, and market conditions to effectively select and price individual risks.
- Ensure accurate pricing of risks through proper classification while adhering to company underwriting standards and maintaining high information accuracy.
- Respond to inquiries from brokers and agents regarding submissions, coverage, and certificate requests.
- Conduct follow-up communications with brokers and agents to finalize inquiries and business transactions.
- Operate within designated authority levels to quote, accept, decline, modify, and renew risks according to established underwriting guidelines, seeking higher authority when necessary.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the underwriting manual issued by the company.
- Adjust policy information as needed based on prescribed authority across various business lines.
- Collaborate with other departments, business development, and account managers to cultivate and sustain a profitable book of business.
- Provide insights to other departments regarding underwriting criteria to effectively identify cross-selling opportunities.
- Communicate underwriting appetite clearly to brokers and agents.
- Enhance the client experience with AIG by consistently meeting or exceeding service quality expectations.
- Develop and nurture effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring open and timely communication.
- Contribute to the establishment of team goals and work diligently towards achieving them, supporting all team decisions.
- Conduct visits to brokers and agents as required.
- Assist fellow underwriters and staff to foster positive growth and team cohesion.
- Travel to meet assigned agents monthly, with travel requirements up to 25%.
Qualifications for Success:
- A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for specialization in Aviation.
- A private pilot's license is preferred.
- Knowledge of Major Products, Component Products, Airports, and Airport Service providers is advantageous.
- Proficiency in desktop tools and underwriting systems is essential.
- Strong communication skills with internal and external clients and colleagues are necessary.
