Job Title: Architectural Design Lead

We are seeking an experienced Architectural Design Lead to join our team in New York Metro. As a key member of our Buildings + Places practice, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of building designs by the selected Design-Build team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and instruct the selected Design-Build team, in collaboration with internal and external design and technical consultants.
  • Report project progress to the client and track project progress, summarize results, and communicate with construction teams, management, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all designs and systems are designed in compliance with defined project requirements and goals, including RFI's and submittals.
  • Support the delivery of work packages to the required scope, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Coordinate the review of design submittals, design presentations, and design charrettes with internal project stakeholders.
  • Manage the design review process with Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Evaluate the design-builder's progress against scope, quality, schedule, cost, and implement corrective action as needed.
  • Manage the multidisciplinary design elements of the buildings, tracking designer technical performance and making appropriate technical responses.
  • Provide technical design guidance and review integration of the designs with other design packages.
  • Ensure that the design documentation covers the scope of work required by the Client and is produced to agreed standards, schedule, and budget.
  • Plan for effective project implementation, identify key issues, and effectively contribute to the project's technical planning process.
  • Ensure that the processes and activities being managed are appropriately documented with appropriate records maintained and quality controls applied.

Requirements:
  • BA/BS in Architecture plus six (6) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Previous experience with Design-build preferred.
  • Strong leadership, and project management skills, including managing a team and driving project results.
  • Relocation is not available for this position.
  • Sponsorship is available for this position.
