Job Overview:


We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician B to join our team in Norfolk, VA. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge electronic systems, perform complex tests, and diagnose malfunctions.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Set up tests, calibrate, align, and troubleshoot hybrids, circuit boards, units, boxes, and significant systems/test equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, sketches, and technical specifications.
  • Use complex test procedures, detailed specifications, and test equipment to diagnose malfunctions and document faults.
  • Operate large vibration equipment and shake consoles in conjunction with shake tables.
  • Conduct temperature, pressure, and tension tests to assess system performance.
  • Perform functions related to all manufacturing operations, including setup and calibration tasks with engineers, rework, and quality testing for parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
  • Use sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data and make online adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.
  • Contribute to developing methods and procedures to improve or modify manufacturing processes and assist engineers in conducting experiments.
  • May act as a mentor to lower-level peers and guide tasks and troubleshooting methods.
  • Make recommendations for solutions to improve system performance and quality.

Requirements:



  • Must possess a valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR 2 years post-secondary education/Associate's Degree with 0 years of related experience.
  • Highly developed job knowledge and skills in electronics, circuit board diagnostics, and system troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical documents such as schematics, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using complex test equipment, including vibration, pressure, and temperature testing tools.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make independent decisions based on technical judgment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to recommend solutions to complex technical issues.
  • Experience operating large test equipment such as shake tables and vibration equipment.
  • Previous experience mentoring junior peers is a plus.
