Transportation Assistant

At Hackensack Meridian Health, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and service. As a Transportation Aide-PT-Evening, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth transportation of patients, equipment, and supplies throughout the hospital.
Responsibilities:- Transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher to various areas of the hospital, ensuring efficient and safe transportation.
- Prepare patients for transport according to nursing service procedure, demonstrating care and respect for each individual.
- Record each transport, including time left unit, destination, and time returned to unit, using the Tele tracking system.
- Maintain vehicles in clean and good repair, inspecting and cleaning them according to nursing service procedure as directed by supervisor.
- Respond to call lights promptly, communicating needs to appropriate personnel and reporting any unusual conditions.
- Assist patients out of bed as requested, demonstrating ability to use lifting devices.
- Provide competent care to patients, meeting individualized, developmental, cultural, and spiritual needs.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- BLS certification required or must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
