Job Summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a highly skilled Vascular Technologist to join our team in Newark, Delaware. As a Vascular Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our vascular laboratory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all diagnostic vascular procedures and operate advanced vascular equipment, including ultrasound imagers and treadmill systems.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of patient charts to verify physician orders and obtain relevant clinical history.
  • Recognize characteristic changes related to age spans and chronic disease, and differentiate user-created artifacts from patient pathology.
  • Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and maintain confidentiality and professional ethics.
  • Evaluate studies for technical quality and utilize necessary accessories to perform procedures.
  • Identify and label films correctly, and participate in the Quality Assurance Program.
  • Develop and update policies and procedures, and pursue ongoing continuing education.
  • Perform assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and policies.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality, use two patient identifiers, and complete mandatory education.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved program in ultrasound or other allied health profession, or equivalent training.
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) certification.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
