Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Nursing Assistant II & Clerk to provide clinical support services on our 13-bed intermediate care unit. The successful candidate will assist professional caregivers in delivering patient care, transport patients and equipment, set up and maintain patient rooms, and perform various clerical tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procure equipment and supplies.
- Critically review patient care documentation, making note of any significant changes in the patient's condition, and report immediately to a registered nurse or physician.
- Provide various clerical tasks, including organizing and prioritizing workload, greeting and directing visitors, researching information requested by nurses and physicians, reviewing orders for logic and clarity, revising orders as requested by the nurse, answering the telephone/patient call lights, transcribing physician orders, and maintaining medical records.
- Perform routine quality assurance audits, safety checks, and inventory of supplies.
- Provide administrative and clerical support, including PI audits and data entry.
- Provide clinical support assistance, including cleaning the work area, maintaining office equipment, troubleshooting common software and hardware problems, changing linens, checking supply inventory, re-stocking supplies, transporting patients/supplies/specimens, and assisting in the orientation of new employees and students.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A High School diploma or GED.
- Listed as Nursing Assistant II with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Listed as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- One (1) year of clerical or customer service experience and six (6) months of related nursing assistant experience.
- Must be fluent in verbal and written English language.
Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $18.20 - $25.86 per hour, paid bi-weekly. In addition, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including PTO hours accrued based on worked hours. This position also qualifies for our Nursing Support Incentive Program, which includes $5,000 paid over a three-year commitment.
Location
This position is located at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC, and requires rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays. We're committed to providing a safe and inclusive work environment for all employees.
