Job Summary

Westat is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function. As a key member of our team, you will lead a group of accounts payable specialists to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports. Your responsibilities will include supervising the team, resolving escalated issues, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports.
  • Manage and maintain Accounts Payable Outlook inboxes; manage workflow in SharePoint.
  • Ensure adherence to government contracting regulations such as the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) guidelines.
  • Continuously assess and improve accounts payable processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Provide guidance and support to ensure team members understand their roles and responsibilities effectively.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field, with at least 8 years of experience in accounts payable, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience with Costpoint software, including AP Module, Materials Module.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and work experience with procure-to-pay cycle and GovCon.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including experience with pivot tables and v-lookups.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications such as Certified Accounts Payable Associate (CAPA) or Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP).
  • Relevant training or certification in government contracting regulations and compliance.
