Job Description:


The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients.


The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.


Registered Nurse Scope Of Practice:


As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for:



  • Assessing, recognizing, and addressing patients' psychological and physical needs.
  • Fostering quality of care with the best interests of patients and their families in mind.
  • Communicating compassionately and effectively.
  • Assisting in developing individualized treatment plans.
  • Complying with evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines.
  • Overseeing care delivered by LPNs and/or CNAs, participating in clinical team conferences.
  • Following hospital, regulatory, and professional guidelines, policies, and procedures.

Ortho Unit Info and Fun Facts:


The Ortho floor of Med Surg is a 45-bed unit that specializes in caring for a variety of medical and surgical patients.


The unit provides inpatient care to patients with multiple diagnoses, including sepsis, diabetes, electrolyte imbalances, gastrointestinal, respiratory, cardiac, infectious, kidney, and liver diseases.


The unit also offers surgical care for pre/post orthopedic surgeries, general surgeries, and other procedures.


Caregivers on this unit utilize the nursing process, technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordination of care with other health team members.


Requirements:


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • A current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification.
  • Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
  • Ability to interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing.

Work Schedule:


Full-time, variable shifts.


Additional Information:


Shift differentials available for evenings, nights, and weekends.


Unit touring is encouraged and available via appointment.
