Machine Fabrication Specialist

At Neighbors and Associates, we are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating fabricating machines such as saws, shears, rolls, and brakes to cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures in the manufacturing of tank systems.

• Read and interpret job specifications and blueprints to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
• Position workpieces against stops or align layout marks with die or blade.
• Activate machines by pushing buttons or depressing pedals.
• Monitor machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions.
• Measure workpiece dimensions to ensure accuracy of machine operation.
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpieces.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow prescribed safety procedures.

• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and sketches.
• Basic math skills to perform calculations.
• Knowledge of common measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
• Solid problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and establish healthy working relationships.
• Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in work.

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).

• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, and extreme temperatures.
