Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to leverage your technical expertise to develop impactful software that shapes the future of construction management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish development standards and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives across infrastructure and software engineering.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor team members to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Utilize our technology stack, which includes Ruby on Rails, React, and Postgres, hosted on AWS, while increasingly integrating Kubernetes and modern programming languages.
- Lead critical projects such as:
- Scaling Software Delivery: Build next-generation CI/CD pipelines to support rapid growth and enable developers to deliver high-quality software efficiently.
- Accelerating Service Deployment: Transition to a service-oriented architecture, creating streamlined pipelines for quick and safe production deployments.
- Enhancing Software Delivery Observability: Implement telemetry solutions to monitor and improve our software delivery processes, focusing on lead time, change failure rates, and recovery times.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering principles, including Test Driven Development and Design methodologies.
- Ability to balance immediate project needs with long-term strategic goals.
- Experience managing software solutions at scale, with a focus on performance and reliability.
- Proficiency in building modern CI/CD systems to support large-scale software development.
- Collaborative experience on significant projects, with adaptability to changing requirements.
- Familiarity with modern web development practices, including testing, staging, deployment, and monitoring.
