Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at John Muir Health. As a Pharmacist in our Infusion Pharmacy, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective use of medications and providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide medication order verification and assess for optimal drug product selection, dosage regimen design, and effective administration.
- Interact with patients, family, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of services and achieve desired patient outcomes.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and assume essential responsibilities of pharmacy management in their absence.
- Lead pharmacy services in a clinical or operational area of the health system and provide expertise and oversight to staff.
Requirements:
- Completion of a School of Pharmacy accredited by ACPE.
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited General Practice Residency (PGY1) is preferred.
- Experience in healthcare, infusion pharmacy, or a related field is preferred.
- Must have a basic knowledge of solid tumors, hematology, and common treatments.
- Must be able to educate, monitor, order, and follow labs for patients on chemotherapy regimens.
- Must have experience in the area of hematology/oncology.
- Must be able to work various hours, days, weekends, and shifts.
- Must have a RPH Registered Pharmacist license from the California Board of Pharmacy.
- Must have a BLS Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) certification is preferred.
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required by 3/31/20 for staff working Unit-Based Shifts.
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required for staff working in Pediatric Unit-Based shifts and Emergency Department Unit-Based Shifts.
Work Environment:
This position will work variable shifts and will be based in our Infusion Pharmacy at John Muir Health.
Pay Range:
$84.64 - $114.26 Hourly
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting.
