Pharmacy Technician Inpatient Role

Job Summary:
As an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician at Kaiser Permanente, you will work under the direction of licensed pharmacists to transcribe and prepare medications, pharmaceutical products, and intravenous admixtures. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a high-volume pharmacy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transcribe and prepare medications, pharmaceutical products, and intravenous admixtures
- Assist licensed pharmacists in dispensing and distributing medications
- Maintain pharmacy merchandise and equipment
- Review medication cassettes and prepare labels
- Transport pharmacy merchandise and assist with other duties as required
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Pharmacy Technician License (California)
- Working knowledge of aseptic technique and ability to prepare sterile IV products
- Experience with unit dose distribution systems, I.V admixture programs, and TPN compounding
- Ability to read, understand, and transcribe pharmaceutical information
- Proficient in oral and written English speaking communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of current drug dosage forms, strengths, generic and trade name traditional and current equivalents.
