About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join our team at the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) at Jacobi Medical Center. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing cutting-edge, comprehensive evidence-based psychiatric care to patients who present to the CPEP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and collaborate with nurses, social workers, physicians assistants, students, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Initiate treatment for acute and chronic psychiatric and medical illnesses, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
  • Coordinate disposition planning with Social Work and Physician Assistant staff to ensure seamless transitions of care.
  • Document incidents and maintain accurate records in conjunction with the treatment team.
  • Distribute workload among physicians and other treatment team members to optimize efficiency and productivity.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for licensure in the state of New York.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry.
  • Graduation from an ACGME or AOA-approved training program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of satisfactory full-time paid clinical experience in psychiatric practice.
  • Superior clinical, diagnostic, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency.
  • Ability to make sound and timely triage, treatment, and disposition decisions.
  • Capacity to coordinate with multiple disciplines in the evaluation and care of patients.
