Key Responsibilities- Facilitate resolution of complex complaints and grievances, ensuring timely and thorough review and resolution.
- Communicate effectively with leadership, physicians, and staff to address patient concerns and craft formal grievance letters.
- Attend meetings and functions on behalf of management, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to City of Hope policies.
- Coordinate physician reassignments, patient discharges, and warning letters, ensuring sensitivity and adherence to guidelines.
- Collaborate with Risk Manager and Senior Director of QRRM to investigate and address non-patient and patient issues.
- Respond to complaints and negative blogs on City of Hope's web pages and social media platforms.
- Provide support and direction to patients, families, and staff, participating in patient conferences and process improvement activities.
- Stay up-to-date on medical terminology, clinical practice, and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and promoting a culture of accountability.
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Healthcare Administration, or a Bachelor's Degree with a California RN license.
- 5 years of experience advocating for patients with direct patient contact in a healthcare setting.
- Preferred qualifications include a Master's in Nursing, LCSW with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, and experience in acute care settings.
