Job Summary

The Clinical Pharmacist plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical services to patients at OSF HealthCare. This position requires a strong understanding of medication therapy and the ability to communicate effectively with medical staff, nursing personnel, and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review prescriptions and obtain clarifications as needed
  • Analyze drug therapy and consult with medical staff and nursing personnel to coordinate delivery of pharmaceutical services
  • Compound and dispense medications and other pharmaceutical supplies according to established procedures and professional pharmacy practice
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the ages of the patients served
Requirements
  • Licenses/Certifications: PHRM-Pharmacist
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Education: Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD.)
    • Pharmacy Practice PGY1
    • Experience: 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience serving a variety of patient types
    • Licensure/Certifications: Board Certification through Board of Pharmacy Specialties
  • Other requirements/information:
    • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and various other OSF HealthCare personnel
    • Analytical skills necessary to determine drug appropriateness and evaluate drug interactions
    • Demonstrated skills in independent problem solving, decision-making abilities, and prioritization/delegation
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
    • Excellent computer skills and the ability to process detailed information in an accurate manner
    • Competency in the use of an electronic medical record system
