Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service:
    • Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the associate's designated department or elsewhere in the store.
    • Treat customers with respect and empathy, and respond to their needs in a timely and professional manner.
    • Thank each customer and invite them back to the store.
  • Cash Handling:
    • Operate a cash register accurately and efficiently, scanning all products and handling cash, checks, and EBT/EFT transactions.
    • Count back change, issue receipts, and Catalina coupons as needed.
    • Change register tape and ribbons as necessary.
  • Store Maintenance:
    • Place merchandise in bags and/or cart in a neat and organized fashion.
    • Assist courtesy clerks as needed.
    • Answer customer questions and concerns, and follow up with appropriate personnel.
  • Compliance:
    • Understand and follow local, state, and company policies on sales of tobacco and liquor.
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines regarding WIC and EBT.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with cash handling.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
