Job Summary

The Safe Center LI is seeking a skilled Hotline Advocate to join our team. As a Hotline Advocate, you will provide critical support and assistance to individuals and families affected by interpersonal violence, including domestic violence, child abuse, and human trafficking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to hotline calls and text chats, providing supportive listening and crisis intervention to those in need.
  • Develop safety plans for individuals and families, connecting them to relevant resources and services.
  • Screen and connect domestic violence victims to emergency housing resources, including the agency's Safe Home.
  • Provide information and referrals to callers, as well as outreach to victims identified in law enforcement reports.
  • Document case notes and data entry in the agency's database.
  • Participate in individual and group supervision, as well as department and agency meetings.
  • Attend training courses to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in the field of interpersonal violence and trauma preferred.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in Spanish, both written and orally.
  • Use of a car for occasional trips, meetings, and other business-related matters.
Benefits
  • Full-time position with 35 hours per week.
  • Salary $43,000 for bilingual candidates, $38,000 for non-bilingual candidates.
