Job Title: Survey Instrument Person

Kleinfelder is seeking a skilled Survey Instrument Person to join our team in Newark, DE. As a member of our survey crew, you will perform a variety of tasks associated with land surveying and civil engineering.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct control, boundary, topographic, and construction stakeout surveys in the field.
  • Perform mathematical calculations to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Continuously learn new techniques and processes, and operate various types of equipment to become more efficient.
  • Assist other survey crews as needed, and occasionally work with other disciplines.
  • Frequently travel to various worksites, requiring a valid driver's license and safe driving practices.
Requirements:
  • 3 months to 2 years of experience in civil and transportation-related surveying is preferred.
  • In lieu of experience, college-level courses in surveying will be considered.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to work effectively with other technical professionals, and communicate technical information clearly.
  • Ability to obtain background clearances to work on-site for certain clients.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments.
  • Ability to carry survey equipment and supplies in remote, rugged, rural, or urban surroundings.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances.
  • Required to stand for long periods of time and/or walk long distances.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • The ability to work outside, in all types of weather, is a requirement.
