Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair equipment in the shop or at customer sites, adhering to safety policies and procedures.
  • Initiate and complete all associated paperwork, including service reports and time records.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by understanding their needs and time constraints, providing superior quality service.
  • Ensure company-issued vehicles, equipment, and tools are in good working order, clean, and professional in appearance.
  • Perform related duties, such as maintaining safety and housekeeping at work sites and shops.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent, with technical background or additional training preferred.
  • Three to five years' mechanical experience with heavy equipment, including knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain, and electronic/electrical systems.
  • Good decision-making and creative thinking skills, with ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Moderate computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and database systems.
  • Good customer service skills, basic prospecting skills, and ability to meet and/or exceed customer expectations.
  • A working knowledge of safety rules, laws, and regulations concerning engine service, hydraulics, electrical, and technical functions of various components.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work with little supervision and achieve required goals and objectives.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends, with a good driving record and skill to operate trucks of one ton or less.

Working Conditions

The Heavy Equipment Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to heavy equipment, tools, and chemicals. The ability to work safely and efficiently in a team environment is essential.
