Position Summary:
Cadrex Manufacturing Solutions is seeking a dedicated Quality Manager to pinpoint quality challenges and deficiencies while establishing reporting mechanisms to monitor quality enhancements that strengthen existing systems. This role involves defining and prioritizing high-impact quality initiatives and overseeing projects to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees quality assurance initiatives to identify essential control points and preventive strategies, sets critical limits, monitors procedures, and executes corrective actions and verification processes.
- Contributes to achieving quality assurance operational goals by providing insights, data, reports, and trend analyses for strategic planning and reviews, facilitating system enhancements, implementing changes, and initiating corrective measures.
- Leads both internal and external corrective action processes related to systems/products requiring CAPA's.
- Validates quality process specifications and attributes, measures production metrics, documents evidence, assesses operational and performance qualifications, reviews non-conformance logs, and updates quality assurance protocols.
- Collaborates effectively with Production, Engineering, and Development teams to uphold product quality.
- Determines and enforces quality requirements across functional groups in alignment with organizational needs.
- Organizes and champions company-wide quality improvement initiatives.
- Evaluates and develops enhanced techniques for quality and reliability control.
- Acts as a liaison with external stakeholders regarding product quality matters.
- Travels to customer and supplier locations as necessary.
- Partners with customers and internal teams to address quality-related issues.
- Maintains regular communication with customers and internal departments concerning quality issues and supports the broader quality department with supplier-related challenges.
- Conducts quality audits of manufacturing processes and components.
- Assists the team with new product introductions and engineering modifications to ensure quality documentation is accurate and supports NPI sign-off.
- Collaborates with the continuous improvement team to implement process changes.
- Participates in team meetings, documents action items, and keeps the team informed of customer concerns.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; capable of writing basic correspondence.
- Proficient in basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work orders.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using statistical tools and performance measurement systems.
- Experience in a sheet metal manufacturing context, along with LEAN Six Sigma, Green Belt, CQE, and/or ISO 9000 auditing is preferred.
- Certification in blueprint reading is required.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
Work Environment:
- This position may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibrations. There may be occasional risks of electrical shock, and the noise level in the work environment can vary from moderate to loud.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, and communicate effectively. Occasionally, may need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and possess specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
