Certified Welding Quality Inspector

KTA-Tator, Inc. (KTA) is a fully employee-owned materials engineering firm, renowned globally for its expertise in corrosion protection and asset integrity. The company operates five distinct business units, generating approximately $40 million in revenue, and provides a comprehensive array of services including coatings, steel and concrete fabrication, as well as inspection, evaluation, and testing of building envelopes across various markets and industries.
Position Summary:
KTA is seeking dedicated Steel Inspectors for both full-time and part-time roles across the nation. Candidates must be open to travel and flexible with shift work.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent - required
- Certifications: Current AWS CWI - required
- Experience: Bridge fabrication inspection experience - preferred; NDT experience is desirable; PCI and AMPP (NACE) certifications are advantageous
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Effective decision-making abilities
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet navigation
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to see clearly at close, color, distance, and depth, with the capacity to adjust focus
- Willingness to travel extensively and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Physical capabilities including climbing, bending, crawling, and working in confined spaces or on uneven terrain
- Ability to lift weights exceeding 25 lbs.
